8pm We’ve already seen a weekend of drama in the Premier League and it’s not over yet as the two teams at the bottom of the table do battle on Monday Night Football. It’s still early in the season; however given the position of both sides this is obviously a massive fixture. It’s definitely more important for Huddersfield because they sit in 20th with only three points – a loss here with home advantage would really put them on the backfoot in their fight to stay up.
It is obvious looking at the stats where the problems lie for both sides and that is goals. But for different reasons – Huddersfield can’t score them and Fulham can’t stop conceding them! It will be very interesting to see how this fixture plays out with both sides obviously out of form. Fulham have conceded a whopping 28 goals in their ten Premier League games so far. That stat is played off against the fact that Huddersfield have yet to score at home this season – however it must be noted that they have had some tough fixtures playing the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool here already. You might say if they can’t score against Fulham with their record who can they score against!
This is a massive opportunity for Huddersfield to win their first game of the season. Fulham conceded four goals in their last away game against Cardiff who have been struggling to score goals as well this season. The home crowd will know how important this game is too so we should have an excellent atmosphere tonight.
No team has ever conceded more goals than Fulham in their opening ten games of a Premier League season and while Huddersfield have had trouble in front of goal; tonight is the night they can break their duck. We feel that they are a couple of ticks too big at 2.38 and we’re happy to back them.
