HOLIDAY MONDAY: An action packed holiday Monday in the Premier League including the televised Middlesbrough v Leicester (12.30pm) and West Ham v Man U (5.15pm). We preview all the games with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
Middlesbrough v Leicester
12.30pm Middlesbrough came oh so close to getting something at Old Trafford on New Years Eve only to conceded twice in the last five minutes to lose 2-1. They performed well none the less though and with Leicester really struggling away from home this season, there will be plenty of people interested in the Middlesbrough price at 2.84. Leicester fans will be boosted by their 1-0 win against West Ham last time out to somewhat steady the ship after a 2-0 loss at home to Everton, but we still have no confidence in their Leicester side away from home and with Middlesbrough being so solid at the back this year, we’re happy to lay Leicester at 2.94. It could be worth checking the price of 0-0 in the correct score market for this one too.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Leicester at 2.94.

Everton v Southampton
3pm Southampton aren’t having a good Christmas – they’ve now lost 4-1 to Spurs and 2-1 to West Brom in their last two games, both at home. Maybe they’ll be hoping that playing away can change their luck, but it’s very hard to back them at the moment. They’ve really struggled going forward, especially without Austin, and now that they’ve started leaking a few goals at the back, they could be on the end of their third straight loss here. It was disappointing to see Everton draw 2-2 with Hull last time out given how poor Hull have been this season, however they did beat Leicester 2-0 in the game before that. We see home advantage shading things here and with Southampton going through a tough patch, Everton appeal as a shade of value at 2.26.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Everton to beat Southampton at 2.26.

Manchester City v Burnley
3pm Pep Guardiola will no doubt be hoping to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible after City’s 1-0 loss to Liverpool on Saturday evening. City are currently trading 1.18 in the match odds market so many people will be expecting a quick death for Burnley here! However they have had a good Christmas winning their last two, and while they might not expect to win here, they couldn’t really arrive with more confidence after scoring four last time out, albeit only against the struggling Sunderland. We expect City to win here nonetheless but Burnley can quiet the scoreline down to a respectable score. Any Other Home Win is trading 3.3 in the correct score market and we’re going to lay that.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Any Other Home Win (City to score 4 or more and win) at 3.3.

Sunderland v Liverpool
3pm David Moyes men suffered another heavy loss on Saturday losing 4-1 to Burnley, off the back of losing 3-1 to United, and given Sunderland’s position in the league – it hasn’t been a good Christmas there! They could be on the end of another bashing here as Liverpool have been in flying form this season, and capped the year off nicely with a 1-0 win against City on Saturday evening. You won’t get rich backing Liverpool at 1.36 in the match odds market, but we see nothing but an easy Liverpool win here. We’re happy to back them on the handicap at 2.04 -1.5 goals which looks like a very big price.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Liverpool -1.5 goals to beat Sunderland at 2.04.

West Brom v Hull
3pm Hull would have been pleased to get a point against Everton on Friday night and stop their run of losses. That put them one point ahead of Swansea at the bottom of the table, however they still only had 13 points from 19 games and with West Brom performing very well over the Christmas period, we’re going to keep it simple here and back West Brom at 1.8 which looks too big to ignore. They very nearly kept Arsenal to a 0-0 draw on Boxing Day while they followed that up with a very good win against Southampton – if they play anywhere like that standard with home advantage here they should put this Hull side to the sword.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
West Brom to beat Hull at 1.8.

West Ham v Manchester United
5.15pm We noted in our Boxing Day preview that Middlesbrough was going to be a good solid test to see where United are at with their performance level. They got the win to keep their unbeaten and winning run going, but they left it late! Maybe the Mourinho effect is coming in and we’ll see more ‘never say die’ stuff from United – but with Middlesbrough very nearly getting the win and West Ham playing very well at the moment, it’s hard to back United here at 1.69. That seems very short, and while the Hammers have moved ground – they’ve always been a reasonably tricky team to beat at home and we cant see this being easy for United – not as easy as a 1.69 price would suggest anyway!
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Manchester United at 1.69.
