PREMIER LEAGUE: We preview Saturday’s Premier League action including the highlight of the weekend CHELSEA v LIVERPOOL – all with recommended BETDAQ bets.
WEST HAM V MANCHESTER UNITED
12.30pm We kick off the Premier League weekend with the struggling Manchester United visiting West Ham. United were held to another disappointing result last weekend as they could only manage a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford against Wolves while West Ham managed to keep Chelsea to 0-0 here. A lot has been said about Jose Mourinho and Manchester United this season; however they simply just haven’t looked like a free-flowing football side and they continue to have trouble creating enough chances to win games. West Ham had a tough start to the season but after putting beating Everton 3-1 and holding Chelsea to 0-0 we’re happy to lay United here at 1.82 considering how they have been playing recently.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Manchester United at 1.82.

ARSENAL V WATFORD
3pm After Watford’s wonderful start to the season they have now dropped points in their last two games. They lost 2-0 at home to Man United and were held to a 1-1 draw against Fulham last weekend. Arsenal have impressed us thus far this season – they seem to be able to grind out away result now under new management and they can challenge for a Top Four spot if that continues. OK, they might come up short against the really top teams but with United and Spurs dropping points they have a good chance to compete for fourth position. They have been impressive at home for a number of seasons and now we fancy yet another home win here – the 1.46 looks a few ticks too big and we’re happy to back it.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Arsenal to beat Watford at 1.46.

EVERTON V FULHAM
3pm This should be a good game between two evenly matched sides. Everton come into the game off the back of four games without a win in the Premier League – and in their last two home games they were held to a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield and lost 3-1 to West Ham, two sides currently in the bottom four of the league. Fulahm have been finding their feet in the Premier League and they are competing – they’ve beaten Burnley 4-2 and held the in-form Watford team to a draw last weekend. We’re expecting a very close game here and the 1.82 on Everton looks very short – we see that as a very good value lay – we just expect a closer game than those odds suggest.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Everton at 1.82.

HUDDERSFIELD V TOTTENHAM
3pm When you’re sitting bottom of the Premier League, Spurs aren’t one of the sides you welcome playing! It’s been a tough start to the Premier League this season for Huddersfield; however Spurs have had some blips too. Spurs seem to have Huddersfields numbers though – in their two games last season, Spurs won twice while scoring six goals and conceding none. Along with that Huddersfield are in poor form at home at the moment – they have failed to score in their last five games here. Looking at the amount of goals in the Spurs team we can only see one result here – Huddersfield look in poor form and Spurs can take advantage.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Tottenham to beat Huddersfield at 1.48.

MANCHESTER CITY V BRIGHTON
3pm After suffering a big shock when losing 2-1 at home to Lyon in the Champions League, Manchester City got back to their usual ways with an easy 5-0 win against Cardiff last weekend. It’s difficult to see anything but another easy win here for City and the markets agree – they’re trading 1.11 at the time of writing, which is the shortest price of any team in the Premier League this season. Brighton have played OK this season, they managed to beat Manchester United 3-2 at home and they should perform with credit here. It’s just impossible not to see City outclassing them here though and we expect an easy home win. City are trading 1.85 -2.5 goals and that looks great value.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Manchester City -2.5 goals to beat Brighton at 1.85.

NEWCASTLE V LEICESTER
3pm This is the most open market for the day, with the match odds at the time of writing trading; Newcastle 2.64, Leicester 2.98 and the draw is 3.35. Newcastle haven’t had a good start to the season and they sit in the bottom three heading into this fixture. Leicester have played some good football and they currently sit inside the top ten in ninth position. We have to say that Newcastle look too short here at 2.64 – we expected the odds to be a little bit closer to the Leicester price; despite it being an open market. Newcastle have had to play some top teams already this season, but they haven’t picked up wins when coming up against the lesser teams either – we’re happy to lay the home side at 2.64.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Newcastle at 2.64.

WOLVERHAMPTON V SOUTHAMPTON
3pm Wolves have settled into life in the Premier League very nicely and they sit happily in tenth position after six games. They had a very good summer transfer window and they’ll be very happy – especially after picking up a point in Old Trafford last weekend too. Southampton had to battle hard to stay up last season and there have been signs that they will have a tough season again. They lost comfortably to Liverpool last weekend but it’s hard to read too much into that considering how impressive Liverpool have been. Wolvers are unbeaten here in the Premier League this season and they also have a great recent record against Southampton so we’re happy to back the home win at 1.82.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Wolverhampton to beat Southampton at 1.82.

CHELSEA V LIVERPOOL
5.30pm This is undoubtedly the highlight of the weekend and we should have a cracker here! Both sides actually met midweek in the Carabao Cup with Liverpool having home advantage that time – this is more serious business in the Premier League though and it will be very interesting to watch how the tactics play out here.
We have an open market, with the odds at the time of writing currently trading; Chelsea 3.1, Liverpool 2.44 and the draw is 3.65. Chelsea always tend to find a way of scoring against Liverpool and the stats back that up – it’s been 14 league games since Liverpool kept a clean sheet against Chelsea. That might make the 3.1 look too big; however we all know how many goals Liverpool have in their team! Liverpool have been excellent so far this season and we expect that to continue here, they managed to beat Spurs away from home and they can compete a London double here.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Liverpool to beat Chelsea at 2.44.
