PREMIER LEAGUE SATURDAY: We preview Saturday’s two Premier League games between EVERTON v CRYSTAL PALACE (12.30pm) and BRIGHTON v WATFORD (5.30pm) both with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended match stats.
EVERTON V CRYSTAL PALACE
12.30pm We have shortened Premier League fixture list this weekend as clubs take a much needed break. We’ll have the same situation next weekend when the clubs playing this weekend get some time off and it’s a nice feature after a very hectic December and January. We start the weekend as Crystal Palace travel to Everton after losing their last two fixtures which came as a surprise after managing to draw with Arsenal and Manchester City. Palace are just outside the worrying bottom six but if they don’t start picking up points they will get dragged into a fight very quickly.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Everton 1.67, Crystal Palace 6.8 and the draw is 3.85. Everton have definitely improved since Ancelotti came in. Since Marco Silva was sacked, only Liverpool have won more points than Everton. A remarkable turnaround given how poor they were playing. They are definitely better having home advantage too and with Palace struggling for home we like the home win at 1.67. A confident Everton can get the job done.

5.30pm This is a huge game towards the bottom of the Premier League table. Brighton are currently in 15th and while Watford are down in 19th, they are only three points behind Brighton. Things are desperately tight and with Bournemouth and Aston Villa picking up points recently – the pressure is really on here. Watford have been stopped in their tracks in the last few weeks by Aston Villa and Everton, but prior to that they had been on a good run. To be honest they looked certain to go down, but now they have given themselves a fighting chance of staying up.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Brighton 2.2, Watford 3.75 and the draw is 3.5. Brighton are very close to repeating last season. They started off playing some very good football and picking up wins, but now in the second half of the season they have hit the wall. They have won just once in their last ten Premier League games and although they are playing a team below them here; Watford probably come into the game with more confidence. We expect a very close game here, a lot closer than odds of 2.2 on Brighton suggest and from a value point of view we have to lay the home win.

- Brighton are looking to secure their first league double over Watford since 1990-91, when the sides were playing in the second tier.
- Watford have lost just one of their last seven away league games against Brighton (W3 D3), though that defeat did come in the Premier League in December 2017 (0-1).
- Brighton won the reverse fixture against Watford 3-0 on the opening weekend of the season, scoring more goals in that victory as they had in their previous seven league meetings with the Hornets combined (2).

- Watford have lost 15 points from losing positions in the Premier League this season, including six across their last two matches. Only in 2017-18 (21) have they lost more in a single campaign in the competition.
- Watford have become the seventh team to lose consecutive Premier League games thanks to goals scored in the 90th minute, and the first since Swansea in September 2017. No side has ever lost three consecutive games in such a fashion in the competition.
- Glenn Murray netted his first league goal of the season in Brighton’s 3-3 draw with West Ham last time out – at 36y 129d, he’s the oldest player to score in the Premier League this season.
