PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: We preview Sunday’s two Premier League games between TOTTENHAM v LEICESTER and MAN CITY v CHELSEA with extended stats and BETDAQ recommended bets.
TOTTENHAM V LEICESTER
1.30pm We have a cracking day of action in the Premier League today and we start with Leicester traveling to London to take on Spurs. It’s been a tough run of fixtures for Leicester as they have had to play Liverpool and Manchester United before coming here to play Spurs however they have performed very well in both games. Arguably they should have beaten Liverpool although a draw is a good result at Anfield, and they could have easily had a draw or better against United given the chances they had – so this will be a very tough test for Spurs.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Tottenham 1.72, Leicester 5.8 and the draw is 3.95. Spurs left it late to beat Newcastle 1-0 in their last game here and prior to that they had to come from 1-0 down to beat Watford late in the game too. Their injuries have been well documented and while it was nice to see them grinding out wins, Leicester are definitely a step up on Newcastle and Watford. We feel that the 1.72 on Spurs here is too short considering their injuries and if Leicester play in a similar fashion as they did against Liverpool and United; they can get a result here. We’re happy to lay Spurs at the odds as we expect a much closer game than 1.72 suggests.

- Tottenham have won three of their last four Premier League games against Leicester City (L1), winning the last two in a row. They haven’t won three consecutive league matches versus the Foxes since February 1987.
- Leicester failed to score in the reverse fixture against Spurs, losing 0-2. They last failed to net in two consecutive league games against the Lilywhites in November 2000.
- Leicester have won just one of their last 11 Premier League away games in London (D4 L6), beating Chelsea on their last such visit in December.
- Tottenham have set a new Premier League record of going 29 Premier League games without a single draw. The last top-flight team to have a longer run were Portsmouth between March 1928-February 1929 (38 games).

- Leicester are one of just three non ‘big six’ sides to have won away against such a team this season (1-0 vs Chelsea), along with Wolves and Crystal Palace.
- Tottenham have won their last three Premier League games thanks to goals scored in the final 10 minutes of games.
- Leicester’s Jamie Vardy has been directly involved in seven goals in his last seven Premier League appearances against Tottenham (4 goals, 3 assists), netting three goals in his last two against them.
- Spurs attacker Son Heung-Min has had a hand in five goals in his last two Premier League starts against Leicester, scoring three and assisting two.
- Son Heung-min has had a hand in 14 goals in his last 11 starts in the Premier League for Tottenham, scoring 10 and assisting four.
MANCHESTER CITY V CHELSEA
4pm The big games just keep on coming for City but that’s what it takes to compete for as many trophies as they are this season. They brushed aside Arsenal last weekend if front of their home fans and now they get the chance to do the same to Chelsea after going to Everton during the week and beating them. They have a very busy period; but they have the squad to cover all bases. Chelsea have lost a lot of ground in the race for a Top Four finish lately and with United in excellent form they can’t afford many more slip ups – although losing away to Man City could hardly be classed as a slip up!
City are heavy odds on favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Manchester City 1.53, Chelsea 7.0 and the draw is 4.8. Chelsea have had plenty of recent success against City, winning three of their last five meetings in the Premier League – however their record away from home against City isn’t as impressive. The cold hard fact about Chelsea this season is that they haven’t won a game away from home against the Big Six and with City hitting form and now so close to Liverpool, we don’t expect that record to change here. City make appeal at 1.53 considering that they have been going off close to 1.3 to beat the likes of Arsenal and United here this season – Chelsea have lost their last two away games and were embarrassed when beaten 4-0 by Bournemouth. We feel that the 1.53 is good value on City and we’re happy to back it.
