PREMIER LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: We preview Wednesday’s Premier League games between MAN U v MAN CITY and WOLVES v ARSENAL both with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended stats.
WOLVES V ARSENAL
7.45pm What a big night at the top of the Premier League table! All eyes may be on the Manchester Derby in Old Trafford, but this is a massive game for Arsenal. They really slipped up on Sunday afternoon after both Spurs and Manchester United both lost; and while Chelsea failed to beat Burnley on Monday night – the point did put them ahead of Arsenal. They now sit in fifth, and need to win or draw to go back into fourth. They face the same question as they do in every other away game; do you trust them?
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Wolves 2.9, Arsenal 2.66 and the draw is 3.55. Wolves have had an excellent season in the Premier League after coming up from the Championship – they have already beaten Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham this season; and adding Arsenal would be the icing on the cake. They are finishing the season poorly though and the loss in the FA Cup semi-final against Watford has appeared to hurt them with a 3-1 loss against Southampton and a 0-0 draw here against the lowly Brighton since. Backing Arsenal away from home comes with an obviously wealth warning; however the 2.66 on them looks too big here. Watford could be on the beach already, and Arsenal have everything to play for. We feel that they should be closer to 2.5, and we’re happy to take the 2.66.

- Wolves have never beaten Arsenal in the Premier League in nine previous attempts (D2 L7), the most they have faced an opponent in the competition without victory.

- Wolves’ Raul Jimenez has been directly involved in seven goals in his 10 Premier League games against the top six Premier League sides this season, scoring four and assisting three.
- Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been directly involved in 10 goals in his eight Premier League appearances against promoted sides, scoring seven and assisting three. Five of those seven goals and two of the three assists have come away from home.
MANCHESTER UNITED V MANCHESTER CITY
8pm What a massive Manchester Derby! There hasn’t been a more important Derby in years and everything is at stake. Every Liverpool fan will be shouting for the old enemy here as a home win would put Liverpool massive favourites to win the Premier League title; but United stumble into this fixture in woeful form. Football has a habit of throwing up surprise results; and a United win here after playing so poorly for weeks would be just something that would happen in this incredible Premier League season. On all known form though; how can you see past a City win?
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Manchester United 7.6, Manchester City 1.48 and the draw is 5.0. It’s strange to see United 7.6 for a game at home, however it is a sign of the times. City have been faultless in the Premier League this year, they may have slipped up in the Champions League against Spurs but Guardiola took a chance and rested players in the first leg for that tie and it backfired massively. United come into this game having lost six of their last eight and City are in good form, however this is the biggest price we have seen United at for a game at Old Trafford and for such a proud club; they will be desperate to win this Derby. From a value point of view, we just have to lay City at 1.49 – we fully expect United to make the game closer than those odds suggest.

- This will be the 160th league meeting between Manchester United and Manchester City; the Red Devils have won 62, drawn 51 and lost 46 of the previous such games.
- Manchester City have only lost one of their last seven league visits to Old Trafford (W5 D1), with current boss Pep Guardiola winning both of his Premier League games there by a 2-1 scoreline.
- There have been just six previous Premier League meetings between Man Utd and Man City outside of Saturday or Sunday. Man Utd won the first in November 1994 (5-0) but are winless in the subsequent five (D2 L3).
