PURPLE PATCH: The big names are back in PGA Tour action this week at the St.Jude Invitational and Brooks Koepka will be looking to continue his cracking form of late.
While Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele have taken the golfing headlines in recent weeks following their wins at The Open and Olympics, there isn’t arguably a more in-form player in the world that Brooks Koepka.
The four-time Major winner has battled a series of injuries over the past year or so, but with the American now reporting a clean bill of health, the results have improved and then some.
In his last five appearances, he has finished inside the top six on four occasions, three of which have come in Majors.
He was joint runner-up at the PGA Championship, before a tie for fourth at the U.S. Open and then he followed that up with a tie for sixth at The Open at Royal St George’s.
And if that stellar run wasn’t enough to back up his claims for this week’s WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational, well his record at TPC Southwind isn’t too shabby either.
He won the tournament in 2019 and then finished runner-up to Justin Thomas in 2020, while he also finished third in 2015 and was again runner-up in 2016.
With 48 of the world’s top-50 in the world teeing it up in Memphis, Koepka will need to be on his A-game, but everything suggests he’s a winner in-waiting.
