PURPLE PATCH: How Spurs have excelled under their new manager
Antonio Conte’s appointment at the end of October has seen a dramatic turnaround in Tottenham’s fortunes.
When the Italian assumed charge Spurs had lost 5 of their last 10 games, but in the 11 games of his reign so far, they have lost just once.
The north London side have won 7 of those matches, including a fine League Cup victory over West Ham, while their 3 draws have included a thrilling 2-2 with Liverpool, where Son Heung-Min rescued a point.
Part of their renewed success has been down to the form of Son and a resurgent Harry Kane, both who have scored 5 times since Conte took over, contributing half of Spurs’ goals in that period.
Their defence has also been bolstered and they have kept 5 clean sheets, conceding only 9 times in 11 games.
All this means Conte’s side have taken 18 points from a possible 24 in the Premier League, an impressive points per game average of 2.25.
Spurs currently sit sixth in the league, only two points off rivals Arsenal in fourth, but the Lilywhites have two games in hand.
They will be looking to continue their rich vein of form when they travel to Chelsea for the first leg of the League Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
