Congratulations to Ryan Clark who was crowned champion of the BETDAQ The Betting Exchange Apprentice Series on Friday 23rd September. Ryan finished top of the leader board with 33 points, Shane B Kelly in second place with 30 and James Rogers in third with 25 points.
During the build up to the race there was all to play for with a win from any of the top three likely to secure the title. However, there was no fairy tale ending with Rachael Kneller landing the spoils with a ride that oozed confidence on Market Puzzle, a 22/1 shot. This left the points unaltered at the top with Ryan Clark announced the overall winner of the BETDAQ The Betting Exchange Apprentice Series.
Ryan is an apprentice jockey claiming three pounds and based at Stuart Williams’ yard in Newmarket. At the age of 21 Ryan already has 60 winners to his name and is justifying the support shown to him by some of the top trainers in the country, most notably with a fine second in the Cambridgeshire at the weekend.
BETDAQ’s marketing director Shane McLaughlin said ‘We have supported British racing throughout our 10 year history and we particularly enjoy seeing the stars of tomorrow developing their skills in the series. This year’s series was a particularly close one at the end which made it very exciting. I would like to congratulate Ryan Clark on a great performance’.
