THE GAME CHANGER LANDS NAP: SHAMROCK’S NAP and only bet on Thursday THE GAME CHANGER won the Buck House Novice Chase at Punchestown in easy fashion at evens.
The Game Changer looked pretty impressive for my money when landing the Buck House Novice Chase at Punchestown yesterday and will surely be now stepped up in grade.
He again accounted for Sizing Platinum and has now won three Grade 3 chases in a row.
Elsewhere on the Punchestown card, Don Cossack got his season off to the perfect start with a repeat win in the Irish Daily Star Chase.
Sent off a prohibitive 1/4 it was nothing more than a cruise round for Bryan Cooper who sent him on at the second last.
Winning trainer Gordon Elliott said: “It’s great to get that out of the way, I was nervous beforehand. We know there is a lot of improvement in him and he gave a real good blow. Bryan said he was never out of second gear. He said he gave a bit of a blow at the back of the fifth-last, but he never moved on him and he finished full of running. It might not have been the strongest race, but he had to start somewhere.”
The Mark Johnston trained Fire Fighting will be hard to beat in the Listed Carlingford Stakes at Dundalk (8.05pm) tonight.
He is an experienced performer at a good level who is also used to travelling and ran well at Meydan at the start of the year. He travels to Ireland on the back of a win on the all-weather at Chelmsford.
