Our Katie was a smooth winner of the opener at Thurles on Thursday to land my nap and only bet of the day at 11/10.
The Elusive Pimpernel Race at Dundalk tonight looks a straight match between Charlie Bear and Five Claw – both recent course winners.
Charlie Bear stayed on well to win his maiden over tonight’s seven furlong trip last month. He beat Period Piece who since went on to finish second to the odds-on Letters Of Note so the form looks solid enough.
Five Claw showed little on debut at the Curragh but broke well to make all the running to beat the odds-on Song Of Love over six furlongs. He was staying on to such good effect that the extra furlong tonight should be relished. Song Of Love boosted the form with a win next time out.
The prices don’t look right to me – Charlie Bear is at 1.8 and Five Claw 2.54 on BETDAQ at the time of writing. I have it much closer and Five Claw has to be the bet at those odds.
