BALLINROBE FIRST RACE NAP: SHAMROCK looks ahead to today’s card at Ballinrobe which starts at 4.50pm on expected yielding ground.
Bercasa is taken to get the better of the Willie Mullins trained favourite Andalusa in the opening mares maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe this afternoon.
Bercasa ran a big race at 50/1 on her jumps debut at Navan to finish third to Our Legend and gets the same yielding ground here.
She’s also fit from a recent spin on the flat where she ran well enough to take fifth in a Leopardstown handicap.
Andalusa was a disappointing beaten favourite at Fairyhouse last time out and even though this looks an easier contest she certainly doesn’t look a world beater and might be vulnerable.
The Joseph O’Brien trained Little Light has had a few chances and it’s puzzling to figure out what her ideal trip is. She struggled to get home over two miles at Fairyhouse last time out having previously finished on a staying on second over 2f 5f in heavy ground at Limerick !!
