CORK AND DOWNPATRICK: Two evening jumps cards tonight. SHAMROCK heads to Cork for a NAP on the card in the 5.35pm race.

The fields have held up pretty well at this evening’s cards despite the ground getting faster.

The novice hurdle at Cork (5.35pm) looks quite competitive with half of the eight-strong field winners last time out.

Bold Emperor is lightly raced and won well at Limerick last time out beating Aaron Lad by five lengths. He travelled particularly well and could have won by a much easier margin.

I think he can be just as effective on this quicker ground and is taken to see off his more experienced rivals which include Little Folke who won her maiden at Tramore well enough last time out but this looks a lot tougher. She had previously ‘won’ at Clonmel but was disqualified after an enquiry.

Look Closer was an easy course and distance winner last time out and is the big danger to the NAP.
