SHAMROCK AT DUNDALK: SHAMROCK heads to the evening card at Dundalk tonight for his best bet which runs in the maiden at 7.15.
I came unstuck yesterday, opposing what I thought was a relatively well exposed runner in a maiden race and tonight I’m planning opposite tactics – with hopefully a better outcome.
The Dermot Weld trained Wateed is 0/6 but has plenty of ability and experience which should put him in good stead for the 7.15 at Dundalk tonight.
Certainly a reproduction of his second over course and distance last time out to I’vegotafeeling should prove good enough as that looked a better contest than tonight.
He attempted to make all the running that day and was arguably unlucky having met trouble in running inside the closing stages.
I was expecting him to be a little shorter than 3.1 on the BETDAQ market so am more than happy with that price.
Taaluf is the obvious danger in as much she is the one we know least about. She made a hugely encouraging debut at the Curragh when fourth in a big field to Iveagh Gardens.
She then made her all-weather debut earlier this month when fifth to Stars So Bright over a mile here.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Wateed (7.15 Dundalk)
