DUNDALK FRIDAY NAP: There’s a strong Irish challenge at Cheltenham’s curtain raiser this afternoon but SHAMROCK stays at home for a nap in the Listed race at Dundalk.
A short priced winning nap yesterday with Dani Theatre WON 2/5.
Irish racing on Friday comes from Dundalk with a seven race card starting at 6.05.
There’s also a strong Irish challenge at Cheltenham, especially in the four runner squareintheair.com Novices’ Chase at 2.45pm where Rock The World (Jessica Harrington) and Sizing Codelco (Henry de Bromhead) compete for a wide open prize despite the small field.
The Mercury Stakes (Listed) is the feature on the Dundalk card tonight and Sir Mark Prescott again sends over Marsha who is a seeking a hat-trick. She won well over course and distance last time out but this represents a much tougher challenge and she looks a little short in the market.
Stronger claims may lie with Take Cover who is dropping in class. He hasn’t done much racing on the all-weather but sufficient to know that he handles the surface and when last seen in Ireland was a third to Sole Power at the Curragh in a Group 2. Surely a reproduction of anything like that form should prove good enough ?
