LISTED ACTION AT DUNDALK: There’s a Listed race on the Dundalk card tonight and it looks quite a competitive affair with 17 runners over the mile trip.
The Cooley Fillies Stakes looks a competitive race at Dundalk tonight (7.30pm).
Sir Mark Prescott won this last year and has another raider today in the shape of Red Box. She won a Listed race at Ascot over a mile earlier in the season but has been a little disappointing since with mid-division finishes at Haydock and Sandown. This is also her all-weather debut and the stable could be in better form so, in short, I am not interested in backing her at short odds tonight.
I thought a better proposition might be Kadra who was a course and distance winner in a strong handicap last time out and bids to make it 3/3 at Dundalk. Although this is tougher – I’m not sure it will be significantly so with a real end of season look to it and Kadra comes into it as a relatively fresh horse.
