FOURTH TIME LUCKY: SHAMROCK NAPS a runner at Dundalk tonight who has finished second in all three starts to date.
Form figures of 222 always set an alarm bell ringing but in the case of Drake Passage I’m not put off his chance in the maiden at Dundalk tonight for which he is number 2 on the card and drawn 2 – there’s a theme here !!
The John Oxx trained runner went off a 33/1 chance on debut at Leopardstown when finishing behind Currency Converter and was then narrowly beaten on his return to the course when a head second to Intern.
He subsequently finished runner-up to Percy at Killarney and the winner has gone on to run with credit in Group and Listed company.
Shahroze was well beaten on his debut at Leopardstown but should improve and the Mick Halford stable is in good form.
X Rated represents Mark Johnston but his form doesn’t look anything special although he does have the benefit of experience on the all-weather with a fourth at Chelmsford last time out.
