IT’S A WASHOUT: Dundalk race on Friday evening but the turf cards this weekend have been badly impacted by waterlogging.
The weather continues to have a major say in Irish racing. Today’s card at Wexford was called off, Limerick on Saturday is off after another 10mm of overnight rain and the big flat card at Naas on Sunday has been called off too and has been rescheduled for Friday 13 April.
Fingers crossed for Navan tomorrow which goes ahead currently, the going is heavy.
The 7.00 at Dundalk tonight brings together four last time out winners and preference is for the lightly raced Andesh who was a smooth course and distance winner last time out after he had previously shown good form in two turf starts at the Curragh and Killarney.
War Hero was also a course and distance winner last time out, although he often finds one too good. However he may enjoy a fitness advantage over his rivals who are reappearing after breaks.
