A nice 2/1 winning NAP on Thursday with Surrounding holding on bravely to win the Listed Corrib Stakes.
Still three days to go for Galway’s Festival and Friday’s best bet may well come in the seven furlong maiden at 5.45pm.
The Aidan O’Brien trained Santiago made a very pleasing debut at Leopardstown chasing home Howling Wolf who had the benefit of experience and with normal improvement Santiago should prove good enough to land this.
The Jessie Harrington trained Alpine Star also put up a good debut effort on debut when finishing third to Love (Aidan O’Brien) – also at Leopardstown and that form was given a good boost when Love came back to win the Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes in good style.
