SHAMROCK 2000 GUINEAS VERDICT: SHAMROCK looks ahead to this evening’s Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh.

A Friday night treat for racing fans who can look forward to a double header from the Curragh and Newbury on ITV Racing.

It’s also a Classic night with the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at 6.40pm very much the highlight on a cracking card from the Curragh.

I fully expect Siskin to maintain his unbeaten record on his first start at over 6f.

The Ger Lyons trained runner won all four of his starts as a two-year-old – all over 6f – and rounded off the campaign by winning the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes here at the Curragh.

Whilst that success came on soft ground, Siskin seems equally as versatile on a quicker surface too and strikes me as a real top class horse. He was staying on well at the end of 6f and is bred to get the trip.

There’s been plenty of support on BETDAQ for Lope Y Fernandez but I think a bigger danger might come from his stablemate Armory who brings experience to the table.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Siskin (6.40 Curragh)

2020 NAPS: 27/59 +82.74 (to a 10 unit daily level stake)
