The maiden fillies race at Killarney tonight looks of interest. It looks set to be a battle between the Aidan O’Brien trained Hibiscus and Dermot Weld’s Zamira who both made encouraging debuts.
Hibiscus finished a close up third of five to Nearly Famous at Gowran Park and makes quite a quick reappearance. She has a Group 3 entry for later in the season.
Zamira was only beaten a head on her debut at Dundalk behind My Fantasea who subsequently disappointed and the third form that race Triplicate made quite hard work of winning here this week when he was my nap.
Preference has to be for Hibiscus who cost 625,000 guineas and should improve significantly from her debut effort.
