LIMERICK FRIDAY NAP: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the opener on the Limerick card tonight.
Disappointing effort really from Sunday Sovereign in the opener at Royal Ascot. He looked the most likely winner of the Norfolk Stakes a furlong and a half out but dropped away very quickly. It’s hard to believe that’s his best form.
It’s a case of once bitten twice shy for me at Royal Ascot so I’m staying at home tonight for the opener at Limerick.
In the opening claimer, the eight-year-old Yuften looks well in at the weights based on official ratings.
He has eight lengths to find with Tennesse Waltz on Tipperary form but the quicker ground here should help with that deficit and Yuften’s jockey lost his irons briefly in that race.
War Hero ran a lacklustre race in handicap company at Cork last time out but the balance of his form would give him more than a squeak at this level.
