DUNDALK ON FRIDAY: It’s been a week of the naps hitting really low odds in running but getting caught. SHAMROCK bids for a change of luck at Dundalk.
Yet again 🙁 Yesterday’s nap Toner D’Oudairies hit an in running low of around 1.15 in a nightmare week which has seen two of my other naps trade at 1.04 and 1.01 in running before getting beaten.
We head to Dundalk on Friday and the feature race is the Elusive Pimpernel Patton Stakes (Listed) at 8.20.
Gale Force Ten is the hot favourite and holds an entry for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
The Aidan O’Brien trained runner was third of five here on his debut before going onto win at the Curragh. That remains his only success but he did run a cracker in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket when a close-up third to Reckless Abandon.
He is comfortably clear on official ratings and it would be a major surprise if he can’t win tonight. The current 2.2 looks generous.
If money talks, Pastilla should make a winning debut in the opener. The Jim Bolger trained filly cost 190,000 dollars and is strong in the early BETDAQ market.
