SHAMROCK HEADS TO LISTOWEL ON FRIDAY: A busy eight race card which gets underway at 2.25 today and features a mix of flat and jumps racing. SHAMROCK has a rare place lay on a favourite as his nap today.
The Listowel Festival continues today and the course have tweeted this morning that the going is heavy (flat), soft, yielding to soft places (NH).
There has been no overnight rain and dry weekend forecast.
I’m struggling to make a case for Egyptian Warrior in the 3.30.
The Aidan O’Brien trained four-year-old has blinkers fitted for the first time and although he ran well on his debut under flat rules at Gowran Park when second to Grecian Tiger, that effort came on good to firm ground and it will be vastly different today.
He looks one to take on today and as I’m struggling to find an alternative I’m going to try a rare place lay on the BETDAQ market with limited downside.
