The curious case of Unrequited today. Already a ‘winner’ of a handicap but now racing in a maiden !!!
It’s come about because although Unrequited was first past the post in a Wexford handicap last month he was disqualified and placed last after the rider failed to weigh in.
It’s pretty much as bad as it gets if you backed him that day but compensation awaits today at Listowel in the Listowel Printing Works Maiden at 3.05.
Aidan O’Brien’s A Greater Force was a well beaten fourth on debut on soft ground at Leopardstown. Lucky Pat comes here on the back of two wins over hurdles, the latest of which came over 2m 3f at Kilbeggan but may find this 1m 4f trip too sharp.
The biggest danger may come from the Jim Bolger trained Solar Focus who was a good second in a Killarney handicap last time out.
The David Wachman trained Senior Counsel should also be kept an eye on in the market.
