TWO IRISH CARDS TONIGHT: Cork and Navan. The ground is on the firm side at both venues and SHAMROCK heads to Navan for his NAP in the 6.40.
Having talked yesterday about getting your money back on the BETDAQ place market in a eight horse race that gets reduced to seven runners that’s EXACTLY what happened with my nap Mr Snagsby who was well backed but could only finish third behind the runaway winner Hellenistic.
There are two Irish cards tonight. Over the jumps at Cork and a flat card at Navan.
Keep an eye on the non runners at Navan as the going is firm (good to firm in places) which is unusual as these days clerks often don’t want anything firmer than good to firm.
The fields have held up reasonably well considering but clearly you need to identify horses that can handle the quick conditions.
My NAP runs in the 6.40 race.
The ground was firm in places at Naas when Devonshire finished a good second to Itorio over six furlongs and that was a decent effort following on from her promising debut at Fairyhouse.
The filly runs in the colours of Sheikh Mohammed and the form of her Naas run took a considerable boost when the winner went on to run a very good race at Leopardstown when second to Bertie Le Beige.
Devonshire probably has most to fear from Fit For The Job who was a 20/1 chance on debut at the Curragh but travelled smoothly and ran a great race to take third to Accepted.
