BACK TO THE JUMPS AT CLONMEL: SHAMROCK heads to Clonmel for their evening card on Friday. His best bet runs in the opening maiden hurdle at 5.35.
Yesterday’s nap, My Titania, certainly looked in need of the race at Leopardstown and never settled in the opening stages.
In the opener at Clonmel tonight, Exxaro looks the one to be on. It’s a 20 strong field but as often is the case in this type of event there is far less strength in depth.
Exxaro was beaten a fair way on his hurdling debut at Thurles but then improved on the better ground to finish second to Monasteradenpauric at Killarney. He steps back to two miles from two and half here which should also be a positive.
Theatre Princess is a prolific winner between the flags but finds life much harder in rules races. She only beat one home in her last hurdles race which came at Downpatrick when she was beaten 86 lengths.
Supreme Benefit is reappearing after a lengthy break but did at least show signs of ability when last seen including a third at Tipperary to Morning Run (although was beaten 25 lengths). She looks the danger to Exxaro.
