BALLINROBE EVENING ACTION ON MONDAY: Ballinrobe stage a mixed meeting on Monday evening and SHAMROCK finds a nap in the opening maiden race at 5.40.
There are only six runners in the opening maiden at Ballinrobe tonight but it still looks a wide open affair with all six having some kind of claims.
The age range is 4 to 9 in this race and it may be the least experienced Storm Away, a four-year-old, who has best claims.
She has only had one start on the flat, but three in bumpers and won two of them so tonight’s trip of 1m 6f shouldn’t cause too many problems.
She was made favourite on her flat debut at Leopardstown (again over this 1m 6f trip) and didn’t run badly when finishing third to the Willie Mullins trained Digeanta.
That was a good effort and given she is likely to improve further and this race doesn’t look any tougher she looks a good bet at the current 3.3 on BETDAQ.
