BALLINROBE MONDAY: Seven race card at Ballinrobe on Monday. SHAMROCK’s best bet of the day runs in the maiden at 6.25pm.
The two runners with plenty of experience – Burma Star and Remarkable Lady should dominate the maiden at Ballinrobe tonight (6.25pm).
Both have hitherto proved hard to win with having had nine chances and it’s likely to be 10th time lucky…. but for which one ?
The official ratings certainly can’t split the pair who are both on a mark of 73.
On balance, I prefer Remarkable Lady who was actually pitched into a Listed race at Leopardstown last year and didn’t fare too badly. She finished in runner-up spot this season in races at Gowran Park and Limerick and most recently finished 8th of 10 in the competitive Ulster Oaks Fillies Handicap.
It was a better run than first appears as she led for a long way in that contest and was eased when beaten – she might be hard to peg back in this much softer race.
Dermot Weld’s Burma Star also has a few placed efforts to her name but ultimately has become disappointing despite being tried over a variety of trips and with blinkers/visors too.
