BALLINROBE MONDAY NAP: SHAMROCK’s nap runs in the 6.05pm – will the Weld stable bounce back to form ahead of Galway next week?
Galway starts a week today and (famous last words) at this stage you just have to have a slight question mark as to whether Dermot Weld will turn it into his usual monopoly.
Just the one winner from his last 27 runners and the market has really cottoned on. The one winner was Tandem who was a massive drifter as the layers continue to take a binary view on the stable form.
Weld has a fancied runner tonight at Ballinrobe, Alahida who was a creditable fourth on her debut at Naas but over this longer trip tonight might be vulnerable to Winston Wolfe who was a good neck second to the odds-on Diodorus at Dundalk. The winner has some big race entries including the Irish St Leger and I think that’s a smart line of form.
