SEEN THE LIGHT: SHAMROCK’s NAP TWINLIGHT WON 9/10 on Sunday. He’s now bidding for a hat-trick of NAPS when Irish racing resumes on Wednesday at Dundalk.

No Irish racing on Monday so chance to reflect on the big race action on Sunday.

My nap, Twinlight, continued his rise up the ranks with a solid victory in the Kerry Group Hilly Way Chase at Cork.

Registering his second Grade Two success over fences, the progressive six-year-old disposed of his rivals in exemplary fashion to complete a quick across-the-card big-race double for trainer Willie Mullins, who had four winners on the day.

Successful with Arvika Ligeonniere (pictured) in the John Durkan Chase at Punchestown 45 minutes earlier but unfortunately stable companion Sir Des Champs was an early faller at the third fence.

Mullins’ son and assistant, Patrick, was happy to give a positive bulletin on Sir Des Champs, saying: “He seems fine. He walked away, it was just one of those things.

“At least it’s a long way from March and hopefully he’ll be okay in the morning. All being well he’ll go for the Lexus at Leopardstown.

Davy Russell was stood down for the remainder of the day by the racecourse doctor after his fall.
