SHAMROCK STARTS NEW WEEK AT GALWAY: Where there is a Listed race on the card at 8.35 and Aidan O’Brien has five runners entered!
They could have considered dividing the Listed Ardilaun Hotel Oyster Stakes at Galway tonight – one division for Aidan O’Brien and another for the others!
O’Brien has five runners entered but still may not plunder the prize. Jockey bookings would suggest that Shell House is the pick of his quintet with Joseph onboard but this one ran really flat in the Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park recently and she may have done enough for this season.
Dermot Weld and Jim Bolger have strong challengers themselves in the shape of Ebeyina and Altesse respectively.
Ebeyina made a winning debut at Cork on heavy ground but proved she could handle the better ground and better class when third to Einsteins Folly in a Listed race at Roscommon last time out.
Preference though has to go to Altesse who beat the red hot favourite Fastnet Mist on debut at Killarney. Fastnet Mist had previously contested a Group race and the pair finished a long way clear of the third horse.
Aidan O’Brien should land the opener with Archangel Raphael who made the odds-on Postulation pull out all of the stops on debut at Killarney.
