PARTY TIME: SHAMROCK landed a 6/4 NAP with his ONLY BET on Saturday. He’s back at Fairyhouse today for the Irish Grand National at 5.00pm.
Party Central won the Listed mares bumper at Fairyhouse on Saturday to land the SHAMROCK NAP and ONLY BET OF THE DAY at 6/4.
The Irish Grand National is due off at 5.00pm with The Big Dog a morning non runner.
It might be unoriginal but I’m struggling to look too far beyond the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE favourite Latest Exhibition who brings Grade 1 form to the table and is the class act of the race.
Put it this way, he won’t be bumping into anything like the calibre of Monkfish today. He’s finished second to Willie Mullins’ star in his last two races at Leopardstown. The hustle and bustle of a big field shouldn’t pose a problem either to Latest Exhibition who was runner-up (yes, again to Monkfish!) in the 19 runner Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival last year.
At bigger prices I thought Escaria Ten could go well, despite being the apparent third string from the stable.
He went off favourite at Cheltenham for the NH Challenge Cup and put in a solid performance with a three length third to Galvin. That was his first test over the extended trip he also faces today and he also has the cheekpieces fitted for the first time.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: WIN AND PLACE Latest Exhibition (5.00 Fairyhouse)
EW: Escaria Ten (5.00 Fairyhouse)
