KILBEGGAN MONDAY NAP: SHAMROCK heads to Kilbeggan tonight for his nap in a very tricky four runner contest at 6.30pm.
Just the four runners go to post at Kilbeggan tonight for the novice hurdle at 6.30 but it still looks very competitive.
The original favourite Judgement Day is now a non runner which leaves it hard to pick between the top three on the racecard. The remaining runner Bunninadden won a point to point a couple of weeks ago but looks outclassed in this company.
Preference is for the Noel Meade trained Jerandme who remains lightly raced and comes here on the back of a good spin on the flat last week when running the odds-on Royal Illusion to a length at Leopardstown over a mile.
He had previously won over 2m 5f at Roscommon and should have no problems with this extended trip.
The Charles Byrnes trained Doctor Duffy is likely to start favourite after his win at Killarney – he doesn’t look the easiest of rides though and his ability to see out this trip has to be taken on trust as is not proven yet.
Dona Katharina is by no means out of it. She was an easy winner at Tramore last time out but it didn’t look the most competitive of races.
