KILLARNEY JULY FESTIVAL: A mixed card at Killarney tonight kicks off the four day Festival. SHAMROCK’S nap runs in the Listed race at 7.00.
The start of the four day Killarney July Festival and we are set fair for seven races tonight on good ground.
Feature race on the mixed card is the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cairn Rouge Stakes at 7.00 for which 12 go to post for the Listed event.
Aidan / Joseph O’Brien are responsible for half of the field and there looks to be strength amongst the numbers.
The Aidan O’Brien trained Asking ran well last time out when dead-heating for third in the Group 3 Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse and she should find life easier in this company.
She had previously run well when sixth in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot and then went on to win a competitive Curragh Handicap where stable companion Music Box was behind and re-opposes tonight.
She is the clear top-rated in the race and should prove hard to beat.
