LISTED ACTION AT KILLARNEY: SHAMROCK looks at the feature race on Killarney’s evening card. It’s the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Cairn Rouge Stakes at 6.40pm.
13 fillies are set to go to post for the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Cairn Rouge Stakes at Killarney tonight (6.40pm).
Aidan O’Brien and Paul Deegan both saddle three runners each and it’s the O’Brien trained Palace who tops the BETDAQ market.
Palace has been tried at the highest level since winning her maiden in soft ground at Navan and has run some good races in defeat including notably fifth in the Irish 1,000 Guineas behind stable companion Marvellous, seventh in the Oaks at Epsom and then last time out at Naas when a close second to Carla Bianca in the 7.30 at Naas.
Interestingly, she takes a drop back in trip today and that could well suit.
Jonny Murtagh’s horses are running well and Dalkova looks an interesting place prospect at decent odds. She takes a big step up in class but that looks worth a try following her runaway handicap success at Naas last time out.
Another to keep an eye on is Booker who is lightly raced and was only 1 3/4 lengths behind Palace in the Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown.
But on the balance Palace looks the safest bet here.
