KNIGHT’S PARADE LANDS SUNDAY NAP FOR SHAMROCK: Knight’s Parade (NAP) WON AT 11/10 landing SHAMROCK’s NAP and only bet on Sunday.
A winning nap on Sunday with Knight’s Parade who notched up a hat-trick with a win at Downpatrick. He was only fourth at the last flight and stayed on well to land the nap.
The race made the headlines for the wrong reasons as Barry Geraghty suffered a hairline fracture to his left tibia in a fall on Druids Nephew who was very much in contention before coming down at the second last.
Dr Adrian McGoldrick, chief medical officer for the Irish Turf Club, confirmed the news that will rule Geraghty out of the Grand National. He said: “Barry has a hairline fracture of his left tibia. I’ve just left him, his leg is in plaster and he’s gone home. He’ll see a specialist on Tuesday and then he’ll have an idea about how long he’ll be out but I would imagine it will be between four to eight weeks.”
