BIDDING FOR THREE NAPS IN A ROW: Free Expression (NAP) WON 11/10 landed the NAP for SHAMROCK on Sunday – and he now heads to Kempton for today’s best bet.
Free Expression won the ‘Monksfield’ Novice Hurdle at Navan yesterday to land my NAP – his job was made that much easier by second favourite Martello Tower falling two out when still very much in contention.
No Irish racing today but there is Irish interest at Kempton where Gordon Elliott runs Clara Mc Cloud in the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle at 2.10.
I think she has a fairly sound place chance – even though we are only shooting for two places.
She certainly should relish the underfoot conditions – it was heavy at Clonmel where she won last time out landing a competitive handicap hurdle with relative ease.
That run came on the back of a good effort when she finished third at Cheltenham.
It’s going to be testing ground at Kempton today – heavy in places and although this, on paper, represents a big step-up in class the mares races often turn out to be less competitive and she comes here a good handicapper in good form and I feel capable of further improvement.
The obvious danger, and why I am napping in the place market, is Polly Peachum from the Henderson yard who has a touch of class.
