CURRAGH GROUP RACE ACTION: SHAMROCK heads to the Curragh on Sunday for the two Group 3 races on the card.
Frustration for me in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket when Lucida was pegged back by Legatissimo and Ryan Moore. I thought Kevin Manning had made a race winning move in kicking Lucida clear but was no match in the end for Legatissimo who made it a Guineas 1-2 for Moore.
Two Group 3 races on the Curragh card this afternoon.
3:15 Canford Cliffs European Breeders Fund Athasi Stakes (Group 3) (3yo+, Class 1, 7f, 7 runners)
Talking of Ryan Moore…… He looks to have an outstanding chance in this Group 3 race onboard Found – the winner of last season’s Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp. She had previously finished a close up third in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes over course and distance here and should be able to make her class tell at this level. Shahzeena looked decent when winning at Cork on debut but that came on heavy ground and she is hard to quantify in the contest of today’s race.
4:25 So You Think European Breeders Fund Mooresbridge Stakes (Group 3) (4yo+, Class 1, 1m 2f, 4 runners)
Aidan O’Brien has won the last FIVE renewals of this but won’t be this year as surprisingly he doesn’t have a runner. Just four but it should develop into a match between Parish Hall and Fascinating Rock. I think the market has it right in favouring the Weld trained Fascinating Rock who won the Listed Heritage Stakes in good style on his seasonal reappearance and the ground and trip today will be spot on.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
