‘CAT’ CAN CREEP IN AT HUGE 13.0 ON BETDAQ: Shamrock spots 13.0 about a first-time handicapper sired by One Cool Cat at Dundalk this evening but naps a Ballydoyle filly with a clear line to form.
I give up on the Dundalk draw. At the penultimate fixture, winners (up to a mile) by stall of 2, 3, 2, 1, 1 had me digging my hands in my pockets, expecting a repeat at the last meeting. But this time the winners came from 10, 13, 7, 3 and 11 and I was bewildered and be-done-for, financially.
Every single race distance today shows a draw bias of up to 63% to low but the corresponding results last year were 3, 14, 5, 12, 12, 7, 2, 4. A rare old mix.
I had got stuck into Flavia Tatiana (8.30) because she’d beaten Elizabeth Coffee over today’s CD; she ‘got beat’, as 7-2 favourite from stall 7, and stall 1 won.
Today she’s 10lb higher for that CD win and that may be her undoing again but would you believe the front of the market hinges on the Elizabeth Coffee form.
Master Melody, beaten half a length by Elizabeth Coffee, receiving 13lb, at one of the November meetings, is now getting only 7lb from Flavia Tatiana, who beat ‘Elizabeth’ at levels. No contest on that form! So we really must give ‘Flavia’ another chance.
Meanwhile, Charles O’Brien has Bramante (7.30) dropped to a winning mark at 13.0 on Betdaq this morning.
Consistent Tarrsille (6.30) has the one draw (here we go again) and was beaten only a neck here a week ago under today’s young pilot with four of today’s field behind.
And there’s a good word for Catadalya (8.00), a One Cool Cat filly ‘expected’ in her first handicap off a decent mark. The effect of her draw in stall 8? Who knows. But 13.0 covers plenty of risk.
