SHAMROCK heads to Friday’s evening card at Dundalk which gets underway at 5.50. A small profit for him in the Thyestes Chase yesterday but was out of luck with nap and next best. Naps sequence is now 212111122B2411P13113
Atticus Finch looks the nap on the card in the 6.20 at Dundalk. The three-year-old brings the best form into the race and having finished second here over both a mile and six furlongs and this inbetween distance of seven should prove spot on. He certainly wasn’t disgraced last time out when second to the long odds-on Harry Trotter making him pull out all the stops for a half length win. The way he stayed on that night suggests the extra furlong should help a lot and we are getting around 3.7 on BETDAQ at the time of writing.
The favourite is Roman General who looks a little vulnerable at 1.9. He has a lengthy absence to overcome and although he showed promise on his Dundalk debut last time out he could well need to be over a longer trip to be seen at his best.
The consistent First Friday should gain rewards for consistency in the 7.50. He is without a win in 10 starts but is running well recently here at Dundalk and ran a very good race behind the in-form Mutasareb last time out.
