48.0 BETDAQ OUTSIDER IS SECOND FOR SHAMROCK AT 20-1: Shamrock’s outsiders, Cantrell (2nd 20-1 from 48.0) and Dead End (3rd 25-1), gave him a good return at Navan yesterday. He looks at Wolverhampton today.
TEN NAPS FINISH IN ONE-TWO: Shamrock’s last 10 naps to complete the course have all finished first or second. The sequence is 212111122B2.
Warneford warning: get on early. Kieren Fallon polishes his boots for just one ride at Wolverhampton today – Warneford (3.25) – and they were finding it difficult to lay anything else this morning, except the maiden Eyedoro.
The big wobbler was Jamie Spencer’s ride, Mount Abora, out to 13.0, in a race for which a strong pace seems certain, via the Irish-bred Jeer.
If you fancy Jeer to last out, you can get 32.0 at the time of writing. Jeer has won or been second on his second or third run of the year for two years running. Back and lay.
Jeer’s trainer, Mick Easterby, has five runners at Wolverhampton but Tim has just the one, Maybeagrey, a CD winner twice and fancied to stop Karma Chamelon’s four-timer (3.55).
Canary Wharf (4.55), one-time Ballydoyle inmate, bids for a Wolverhampton hat-trick for Marco Botti, whose last two runners there have won at 4-9 and 12-1.
It would be nice to see a return for Niall Moran from the filly Emma Jean (2.55), bought out of a seller, but the 14.0 about Daniel Loughnane’s first-time-in-a-handicap Ihavetonuff is more appealing.
