CORK: Eve of Punchestown action comes from Cork with an evening jumps meeting starting at 5.20. Shamrock’s bet of the night comes in the opener.
Large fields are the order of the night at Cork none more so than in the first race at 5.20 where 27 go to post.
Despite the size of the field it can fairly quickly be whittled down and the class prospect is undoubtedly Supreme Carolina for the Mullins / Walsh combo.
She makes her jumping debut here after shaping with promise in bumpers last season, winning on debut at Listowel, before three creditable efforts at Punchestown (2nd), Cheltenham (5th) and Navan (7th). The last two races were Listed events and she wasn’t beaten too far in them and frankly there’s nothing in this line-up that can match that kind of form. Mullins will be looking to start a busy Punchestown week well and at current odds of 3.1 on BETDAQ Supreme Carolina looks the days nap.
In the 5.50 at Cork Casimir Road looks a sensible place option at around 2.6. He gets an age allowance from the majority of the field and shaped well enough when third last time out at Tramore.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Supreme Carolina (Cork 5.20)
NEXT BEST: Casimir Road (Cork 5.50)
