33 today. Can birthday boy Ruby Walsh celebrate with bubbles after a success onboard Champagne Agent in the 7.20 race? I’m far from sure. The six-year-old has proved a very expensive horse for punters to follow in six starts in bumpers with defeats at 2/5, evens and 15/8.
Some of those losses were recouped when he won at Cork last time out at 9/2 in a close finish. He makes his hurdling debut here but there’s a couple in the race with form good enough to beat him who are already experienced in the jumping game.
As ever, price dictates and at the risk of being a party pooper I’m hitting the lay button.
For the nap I like Ballyadam Approach in the 6.20. He ran a great race when second last time out to E Mac at Kilbeggan and this is a contest that lacks any strength in depth.
