SHAMROCK HEADS TO KILLARNEY: Good day of racing in Ireland with an interesting card at Dundalk featuring the exciting O’Brien debutant Mars which DAQMAN has previewed in his column. Shamrock heads to the evening action at Killarney.
The maiden at Killarney at 6.50 looks quite competitive and the value could be with the Dermot Weld trained Cool Metallic. The stable have been out of form recently but had a winner at Fairyhouse yesterday which might signal a change in form. Cool Metallic was stepped up in distance at Bellewstown last time out and on face value was a little disappointing in third. But it was bottomless ground that day annd might be worth another chance here and is recommended in the place market.
In the final race on the card Coolmill will be popular after a debut fourth at Clonmel where he wasn’t beaten too far behind Gold Bullet.
However, he may have to play second fiddle to the Willie Mullins trained Klepht who has been off the course for 807 days but he showed plenty of ability between the flags and a long absence is never normally a problem for this top stable.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Klepht (8.50 Killarney)
PLACE: Cool Metallic (6.50 Killarney)
