6 NAPS IN A ROW: Shamrock made it a fantastic SIX WINNING NAPS IN A ROW yesterday thanks to Dibayani (WON 8/13) winning the opener at the Curragh on Irish Oaks day. Just for good measure, his next best, Great Heavens in the big race WON at 5/4.
We go to Ballinrobe tonight in search of our SEVENTH WINNING NAP IN A ROW.
I’m going to nap Stunned Silence in the 6.50 despite three concerns:
(1) Only run has come on all-weather
(2) Has been off the course for 283 days
(3) Weld stable not firing on all cylinders at the moment
So why am I napping her ? Simply because it’s a case of the price building in those factors to make the odds of around 2/1 on BETDAQ very appealing in a race that won’t take much winning.
If she had won recently on turf and the stable was in better form there’s no doubt in my mind she’d be odds-on for this – so these factors are built into the price and I’m prepared to take the chance on that basis.
She is already the best horse in the race, with an official rating of 85 based on her debut effort when winning (and unfancied) at Dundalk in a race where the form worked out well. She obviously has tremendous scope.
Kedlesto is a tough cookie who likes to make the running and definitely looks the best of the rest in this contest.
