LISTED ACTION AT GALWAY: Feature race at Galway is the Ardilaun Hotel Oyster Stakes at 6.05 where Shamrock has found a nap.
A big week for Irish racing as we build toward’s Camelot’s Triple Crown bid at Doncaster on Saturday.
The action today is at Galway with a seven race card getting underway at 4.05.
In the featured Oyster Stakes at 6.05 Aidan O’Brien holds a tight grip on the race. The selection is Chamonix, partnered by Joseph O’Brien, who left his debut form at Leopardstown well behind with a demolition job at Killarney last time out winning his maiden by 12 lengths. That was over a 1m 6f trip and the runner-up Bob Lingo went on to win the Galway Plate Chase over even further next time out !!
There’s no reason why Chamonix should be inconvenienced by the drop back in distance and he is preferred to stable companion Demurely who was runner-up (albeit at 7 1/2 lengths) to the long odds-on Sapphire in a Group 3 at Cork last time out.
Three Kingdoms let me down last week and he doesn’t look the most resolute performer – I prefer Faanan Aldaar in the final race at 7.05pm.
