COFFEE IS SERVED UP AS 11-4 NAP: Shamrock warned punters to wait for the last at Dundalk’s evening meeting yesterday. The filly, Elizabeth Coffee (WON 11-4, nap), was worth the wait.

It’s time for a new kid on the block. The banks race (12.35) at Punchestown today has been won every year in the five seasons of its existence by horses of a double-figure age.

But there’s no Garde Champetre or L’Ami today, as the king of the banks, Enda Bolger, relies on new blood, an eight-year-old and two aged five.

Scotsirish (12.35) carries the flag for the old boys: following Willie Mullins transition of Uncle Junior to banks courses, he seems determined to take over banks-king crown from Enda.

But Bolger has J T McNamara on the ex-McCain chaser, Chamirey, with Nina Carberry (Drawn N Drank) and ‘Slippers’ Madden (Mount Sion) on two former Points winners.

The Pointers are friendless in the market, and I can’t back Scotsirish at odds on, so I’m going each way Chamirey as the Bolger best bet.

I want to set up a seven-day naps sequence, like my colleague, Daqman, so I’m putting in Midnight Game (2.35) today, on the strength of massive vibes about this Listed performer on the Flat.

Citizenship (3.10), first time in a handicap, will give my trio euro power. But Midnight Game is my Angela Merkel.

SHAMROCK’S BETS
NAP: Midnight Game (2.35 Punchestown)
EACH WAY: Chamirey (12.35 Punchestown), Citizenship (3.10 Punchestown)
DAQ TRIO: Chamirey (12.35 Punchestown), Midnight Game (2.35 Punchestown) and Citizenship (3.10 Punchestown)
