NORMAL NAPS RESUMED: After a blip on Thursday Shamrock returned with a winning nap on Friday with Zahr Alyasmeen. She made hard work of winning at 4/7 but ultimately won to take the current Shamrock naps sequence to six out of nine 112101101
Considering Cheltenham is now hours away we can still look forward to some good racing in Ireland this weekend with Gowran Park today and Naas on Sunday.
I’m determined to try and keep the naps sequence ticking along so we can get some ammo in the bank ahead of the battle next week.
Gagewell Flyer is today’s nap despite him letting supporters down when odds on at Thurles last time out. That run wasn’t too poor allowing for the fact he’d been off the track for so long and it was his chasing debut. A dual grade two winner over the smaller obstacles he is head and shoulders above these rivals on form and with hopefully a confidence boosting first start over fences behind him can go in today.
I don’t often hit the lay button but have to in the opener. Cause of Causes looks too short. He fell when beaten on his hurdling debut here and I never like backing horses at favourite prices with that profile.
