SPOT-ON GRAND NATIONAL PREDICTION BY SHAMROCK: Our Irish tipster with the Shamrock touch yesterday tipped Prince De Beauchene (WON 11-10) to win the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse and become the new Liverpool Grand National favourite.

STYLISH ‘PRINCE’ IS NEW FAVOURITE: Sure enough, Willie Mullins’ ‘Prince’ won in great style and is now as low as 7-1 with Paddy Power (Betdaq offers bigger, of course, at around 9.6). The Bobbyjo was previously won by Mullins with Aintree hero, Hedgehunter.

Jack at all trades? Noel Meade, who saddles Texas Jack in the Grade-2 novice hurdle today (3.25), won it with the subsequent Supreme Novices Hurdle winner, Go Native (2009). It was his second success in the race.

But last year’s winning yard, that of champion trainer Willie Mullins, has today’s favourite, Felix Yonger, and why not after his success at Downpatrick in December.

Well, the ‘why nots’ for Felix Yonger are the change of ground today and the step up in class, and the ‘why nots’ for Texas Jack are his loss of form and his preference for a right-handed track.

At the offers on Betdaq this morning, I strongly fancy Joxer, 6.4 as I write, a progressive horse until scoping badly after his defeat at Punchestown.

He previously beat Allure Of Illusion, a winner before and after that race, and had got within half a length of Midnight Game at Leopardstown.

Midnight Game had earlier taken on the likes of Sous Les Cieux, and last time out beat a decent sort as a yardstick in Dylan Ross.

I shall put Seabass (4.05) – my 41.0 Grand National bet on Betdaq – Rathlin (2.55) and The Paparrazi Kid (5.05) in my yankee.

For my each-way selection, I hope I’m betting fair to take Gordon Elliott’s tip that Martin Scruff (4.35) will improve on his Fairyhouse run today, despite being 25.0 on the Daq.

I shall let my cursor roam and have a saver on One In A Milan (well, they started it). I have no bet Toulouse today.

SHAMROCK’S BETS
NAP: Joxer (3.25 Naas)
OUTSIDER: Martin Scruff (4.35 Naas)
DAQ MULTIPLES: Rathlin (2.55 Naas), Joxer (3.25 Naas), Seabass (4.05 Naas), The Paparrazi Kid (5.05 Naas)
